Essential Cycles didn't start giving back when we opened the doors in 2017 — we were already out there. Trail work is baked into how this shop operates because the people behind it have been building and maintaining trails on the Shore for years.
We ride these trails. We take care of them. It's that simple.
Executioner Trail
A North Shore classic that sees heavy traffic. We started helping friend and longtime builder Chris on Executioner before eventually taking over maintenance with the Muddbunnies crew. The trail stays rugged and natural—we focus on drainage, erosion control, and keeping it rideable without sanitizing the character.
Upper & Lower Crippler
Crippler is a work of art — Andy originally held an independent DNV permit for both sections, one of the last on the Shore before insurance and liability changes brought all builders back under the NSMBA. The wooden features and rockwork on Crippler? All him, almost all solo. Some of the most impressive building you'll find on Fromme. Essential Cycles supports his work on the trail.
