The primary difference that distinguishes these axles from our other axles is the conical washer, where our other axles have a flat washer. Any bicycle brand that uses the Syntace X-12 System will also be able to use these new axles, which includes many models from Specialized, Cannondale, Intense, 3T, Canyon, and others.\n\nWhen developing the Rear Axle, Wolf Tooth engineers knew that they wouldn’t be able to get away with any old factory replacement part, even if it was made in Minnesota to aerospace standards. The Wolf Tooth Rear Axle uses a captive conical stainless steel washer under the head to reduce friction on the dropout face. This protects your expensive frame, transfers more of the tightening torque to clamping load for a stiffer interface and prevents the axle from sticking or galling when you want to remove it.\n\nThese are also a great replacement option for lost or damaged stock axles.
